Your initial consultation will last approximately 40 minutes. Dr. Sargur will discuss in detail your current allergy / immunology complaint and your previous allergy history. Many allergy / immunological tests can be done by taking a blood sample. If required, you will then undergo allergy skin prick testing. This involves placing solutions of allergy-causing substances (allergens) that are relevant to your complaint onto your forearm, followed by a pin prick through the drop into the top layer of your skin. After 15 - 20 minutes, the results are observed. An itchy red bump at the site of the pin prick indicates the possibility that you might be allergic to that substance.
